Ms Levy sued for unfair dismissal in an employment tribunal on grounds that:
‘Her job was to act in best interest of her client, The Hospital Trust, and that she had done by suppressing evidence to prevent adverse publicity, which she said was her job’.
Levy won her case + £103K compo.

Three Views From The Crows Nest:
1: The proposed High Speed Train 2 Project from Town to the frozen desolate barren wilds North of Watford is fraught with difficulties of planning before it has even started.
This is well know and publicised and does not need further from us here other than to remind that estimates of start and completion vary wildly due to the uncertainty of the ‘legals’.
The extreme dates we have seen banded about of 2030 START and 2070 FINISH, with all the others in between as well,
puts up the ‘why bother’ frame in front of us at the very least if not same to many others !
2: The Cross Rail Project running East<->West across London is well under-way and tunnelling is continuing apace –
@ an average of progress/ machine
(there are several working from end and intermediate headings along the path of the line)
of 25m / day’.

Few anomalies in published pace of works but above 25m/ day/ machine appears to be a fair average gleaned to date.
3: We’re not clever BUT:
If tunnelling were to be applied to all the HS2 Project things might well be simpler and finished in a fraction of the best overland projected time.
A Point:
They (The Great Them) have already designated a self-set president for long-bore tunnelling per se for the now published conventional mostly overland HS2 route scheme in that of the proposed ~ x14klick / x9mile bore (if they flick the crow straight)
from Ringway (Manc) Airport to the cultural heart of our fair city : Ardwick-by-the-Cut.
So, if tunnelling were to be adopted for the whole/ most of the projected scheme: As a Phase I, say:
The length of a new route from say Heathrow to even Brum is a good several times longer than the Cross Rail Project:
Call it x160 clicks long, or 100 miles in proper money, to allow for
a few twiddly bits and sidings and stock and estate service areas and by-pass tracks etc.
The rate of above boring machines from say a doz heading shafts, machine strength of say 22 machines total/ tunnel
(the job would prob be at least x1 set of paired tunnels – One for each direction of traffic flow)
would have the thing completed for boring works underground in x291 days if all kicked-off together.
We know, that’s the theory in a perfect world !
Well, 291 x 6 say, = 1746 days = ~4 years 10 months to allow for
cock-ups + unforseens + breakdowns proper + loss of power + strikes
+ shortages of materials and spares
+ proper tea breaks
+ a shortage of shortages (Ta Spike),
etc, etc, and another etc for bad luck !
